Odoo and Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Initially, let's delve into the realm of machine learning and artificial intelligence.

Humans have the capacity to learn from errors, influencing the choices we make going forward. Similarly, machines can employ AI models to generate decisions based on past data in various scenarios.

To enable computers to learn from past data and formulate predictions or decisions, it's imperative to construct algorithms and models. Unlike traditional programming where computers must be explicitly trained for specific tasks, in machine learning, computers autonomously grasp patterns and rules from data to execute tasks automatically.

Machine learning allows computers to learn from past knowledge or experiences without the need for explicit programming. However, its accuracy is lower compared to AI, prompting the introduction of the concept of artificial intelligence.

"Artificial intelligence" denotes intelligence designed to mimic the human brain's decision-making abilities. It achieves this by training artificial neural networks, which are inspired by the structure and functionality of the human brain.

AI is categorized into two distinct types: weak and strong, or general AI. Weak AI is employed for specific tasks, while strong or general AI exhibits human-like thinking and behavior. Weak AIs are extensively utilized in contemporary applications.

To the best of our knowledge, Odoo is an ERP software tailored for business purposes, offering fully integrated and customizable open-source solutions for company management and resource planning.

Odoo leverages AI technologies to enhance both speed and accuracy, thereby fostering rapid business expansion.

Applications of AI in Odoo

Utilize optical character recognition (OCR) to digitize vendor invoices.

Entering a large volume of paper bills into the system manually can be challenging. Hence, Odoo employs optical character recognition (OCR) to extract text from images.

We can upload multiple bills in PDF format through the Documents module.

The scissor icon allows users to split a PDF file into multiple sections, especially if it contains various bills. After using the "Create Bill" action button, a bill can be generated.

After a 5-second interval, the data gets recognized. Following this, a page refresh is required, and the data will be automatically filled in. This feature requires purchasing credits to utilize.

In the future, Odoo will leverage various AI applications, including website conversion optimization, AI-driven smart inventory management, and product recommendation systems.
